About Dr. Caviness
Dr. Randy Caviness is a 1993 graduate of Tufts School of
Veterinary Medicine Foster Hospital for Small Animals (TUFTS).
The Colorado-based International Veterinary Acupuncture
Society (IVAS) certified him in veterinary acupuncture in February of
1994. Since 1995, Dr. Caviness has held an academic
appointment as clinical instructor at Tufts University Small
Animal Hospital in Grafton, Massachusetts, where he is the only
small animal instructor of acupuncture. In 1997, the
American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) certified
him in animal chiropractic. He attends many seminars and
conferences on complementary and alternative therapies. He is a
member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA),
IVAS, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA)
and AVCA.
His philosophy of medicine seeks to integrate conventional
veterinary medicine with alternative medicine, using the
benefits of both. He looks at the whole animal, home-life,
nutrition and activities in evaluating health.
